Books, passed hand to hand.
Borrow from neighbours with a deposit that comes back when you return it.
Swap amongst your neighbours or at the sharing hub
No real money changes hands โ credits are just a running tally the site keeps, not currency. Every new member starts with 10, a book costs a few to borrow, and they come straight back to you once you return it.
HSR Reads is this collective's in-person book swap โ or arrange pickup with the owner anytime.

Books people want
Can't find a book here? Ask for it. If you have a copy, this is what to bring on Saturday.
How it works

Share a book
Scan its barcode, add photos and say what it's worth. With an ISBN it goes on the shelf at once.

Borrow
Put up its credits as a deposit, then collect it at a hub or from its owner.
- 04
Return
Give it back at the hub or to its owner. That's it.
The Three Laws of the Library
With apologies to Dr. Asimov
First Law
A reader may not harm a book or, through inaction, allow a book to come to harm.
Second Law
A reader must return the books lent to them, except where the lender has made the book a gift.
Third Law
A reader must keep the shelf growing by sharing books of their own, as long as that does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
